Girls’ Basketball
Feb. 7:  The Prep varsity girls got back on track by defeating Rio Hondo 57-50, avenging their prior loss to the Kares. The Rebels took an eight-point lead into the half and never looked back. Eight different Rebels scored, capitalizing on their good defense and well executed offensive possessions. Lacy Coan had the hot shooting hand, making several big three point shots on the way to a team high 19 points, while Tala Ismail added 12 points.

Feb. 11: The girls kept their composure and took care of the Chadwick Dolphins on the road 52-34, keeping their hopes alive for a share of the Prep League title. Another good team effort by the Rebels, behind Tala Ismail and Renae Tamura who both had a team high 12 points, while Maya Okamoto added 10. The Rebels played well on both ends of the floor, especially the defensive side, holding Chadwick to only 15 first half points. This gave Prep all the lead they needed to secure the victory, as they were dominant on offense and defense in the second half to close out the game.

The Lady Rebels were 16-4 overall, 9-2 in league entering Wednesday season finale vs. Westridge. They were tied for first with Polytechnic.

The Rebels wrap up the regular season today hosting Webb High School. They will finish second in league behind Poly (8-0-1 in league).
