Mouw Guest Speaker at LCPC

La Cañada Presbyterian Church will be hosting a guest preacher on Sunday, March 13, in all three worship services (7:55, 9:25 and 11 a.m.). Dr. Richard J. Mouw will speak on Matthew 28:16-20 and will use this scripture to explore Christ’s authority and the early church’s response to it.

A philosopher, scholar, and author, Dr. Mouw has served as president of Fuller Theological Seminary since 1993, after having served the seminary for four years as provost and senior vice president. Dr. Mouw currently serves as president of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). Additionally, he has participated on many councils and boards, including the Council on Civil Society. He is active in ecumenical and interfaith activities, and presently represents the Presbyterian Church (USA) as co-chair of the official Reformed-Catholic Dialogue.

Continuing the Journey Continues

All are invited to the second in a four-session series of classes about “Being one of Christ’s people in the world.” La Cañada Presbyterian Church is offering these classes that are an overview of the basics of our faith.

The second class, led by Rev. Chuck Osburn, is an overview of the Bible and how the Bible helps to be Christ’s people in the world.  This class will be held Sunday, March 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 308 of the Demarest Family Life Center.

The third class follows with Rev. Kristin Leucht leading a discussion of how to discover the right resources for helping of a deepening of faith. Join Leucht on Sunday, March 20 form 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., also in Room 308 of the Demarest Family Life Center.

Finally, Rev. Jim Milley leads an experience that will help identify a path for learning and growing to represent Christ well at home, work and all places. This final class takes place on Friday, March 25, from 7p.m. to 9 p.m. in Room 309 of the Demarest Family Life Center.
