According to the LA County Fire Dept., at 1:42 p.m. it received a call concerning a fire in 31600 block of Tick Canyon Road in Santa Clarita. Firefighters are responding and are battling the fire on the ground and with water dropping air support. As of 3:20 p.m., 850-plus acres were burned.
The fire is affecting the side of the 5 freeway and Highway 14.
