Eagle Rock Fire Update

 An evacuation  center has been established at the Glendale Civic Auditorium for those evacuated due to the Eagle Rock  fire. The Civic Auditorium is located at 1401 Verdugo Road in Glendale. 

 

Update on the Eagle Rock fire. As of 6:29 p.m.: There is a mandatory evacuation now ordered for Mount Carmel and Bywood in the Glenoaks oaks canyon area.

Update Brush Fire as of 5:03 p.m. 2900 W Colorado Blvd.; Eagle Rock:

The fire spotted across to the north of the 134 Freeway  is slowly backing up hill. Three LAFD helicopters are conducting continuous water drops. Firefighters are making good progress against the left flank of the fire with additional resources committing to the right flank.  It is reported that no homes are in danger and no evacuations are in place currently.  A defined number of homes threatened  has not been released. Glendale and LA County Fire both have resources on scene while LAFD remains Incident Command. The 134 Freeway is closed westbound  at Figueroa and  eastbound  at Glendale. The 2 Freeway is closed  south bound  at Mountain. Please follow CHP for all updates on road closures. This is a Major Emergency incident with no injuries reported.
