Male Arrested in Firearm and Drug Incident

The Glendale Police Dept. is investigating a case involving a suspect who was arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.

On July 24 at 6:48 a.m., the GPD Communications Bureau received a call regarding a male wearing a safety vest who had fired one round from a handgun in the 100 block of North Louise Street in the City of Glendale. The witness provided a detailed description of the male who walked into the alley, removed a black semi-automatic gun from his waistband and fired one round into the air. The witness saw the male smile, place the gun back into his waistband and continue walking. The witness picked up the shell casing and followed the male to a parking lot where he saw him sitting in the trunk area of a vehicle.

The witness directed officers to where the male was located and he was detained pending further investigation. The male was identified as 32-year-old Agustin Reyeshurtado of Sylmar.

A search of the vehicle revealed a black .40 caliber Glock handgun and a magazine containing five rounds in the center console. Two additional rounds were located in the vehicle as well as an empty shell casing.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Reyeshurtado was placed under arrest and booked for negligent discharge of a firearm (246.3 PC), possession of a controlled substance (11350(a) H&S) and possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm (11370.1(a) H&S).
