For the past 12 years, the caring owner and staff of La Crescenta Pharmacy have been serving the foothills community’s prescription needs, and turning it into something special.
La Crescenta Pharmacy serves people with an extraordinary kindness, ease and compassion not found at any chain store in the Crescenta Valley with a long history of satisfied customers who can count owner and pharmacist KB Patel as a friend and trusted medical advisor.
“We have invoices on record of families charging medicines to their accounts since the 1950s,” said KB, a pharmacist for more than 30 years.
The pharmacy offers a free billing service where patients can order their prescriptions at the beginning of the month, pick them up as needed and pay at the end of the month instead of paying for medicine on a daily or weekly basis.
“It’s a very good plus for senior citizens,” he said. “They order the medicines, pick them up and don’t have to worry about them until the end of the month. Not many pharmacies do that. We do it as an extra service.”
Extra services are what La Crescenta Pharmacy is all about. They also offer free home delivery of medicines and anything sold in their store to patients in Montrose, La Crescenta, La Cañada, Sunland, Tujunga and certain parts of Glendale which are close to Montrose.
KB and his three pharmacy technicians, two of whom speak fluent Armenian and Farsi, are committed to the safety and health of patients. The pharmacy uses a computerized description system which picks up interactions between drugs prescribed from different doctors to avoid dangerous mixes.
“The doctors appreciate this service,” he said. “Especially when patients see multiple doctors and they don’t tell them which medicines they are taking.”
The pharmacy accepts all forms of health insurance, including Medicare part D and Medi-Cal and if a patient is without insurance coverage and low on cash, KB is still committed to their well being.
“As far as we can help, nobody goes out of here without urgently required medicine,” he said.
La Crescenta Pharmacy is open to the community at 2764 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta. For more information, please call (818) 248-5851.
