“Our Business is Your Business”

A Magical Place for Children and Adults!

Yes, this place exists right here in the Crescenta Valley! Once Upon A Time bookstore in Montrose is that place and we are proud to say it is the newest member of the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce!

Founded in 1966, “Americas Oldest Children’s Bookstore in the Nation” is indeed a magical place. Once Upon a Time has an absolutely charming ambiance that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to a place where shopping used to be personal and neighborly. Owner Maureen Palacios purchased the store from the founder Jane Humphrey in 2003. Once Upon A Time is a proud independent bookseller with a unique combination of superb customer service and fast special order fulfillment. The book selection is outstanding with quality children’s books and an intelligently curated choice of books for the entire family. They pride themselves on their recommendations, events and activities that have kept families coming back for generations. Keeping up with the times, they are excited to introduce their online store where you can shop, browse and get information about special events. Once Upon A Time is located in the heart of Montrose at 2207 Honolulu Ave. Stop in for that special book or gift!

It was a full house at the first Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce business luncheon last Thursday. It was very interesting and informative thanks to guest speaker Phil Coombs. Phil put on a beautiful presentation of his aerial photography and educated all of the guests about the multitude of applications that RC photography can be used. Thanks also to Zeke’s in Montrose for the catered lunch. (The pulled pork sandwiches were delicious!) Kimberly Holland, executive director of the GCC Professional Development Center, was a gracious host and provided the chamber and their guests a comfortable location for this event. President Steve Pierce and the chamber will host a business luncheon quarterly, so look for upcoming information about the next one! Due to the popularity, reservations will be required.
