Health and Wellness in the Valley

Sharing and showcasing some of the health and wellness services in your community: On Saturday, June 23 from noon to 3 p.m., the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce joins Spiritual Heart Yoga to showcase our local businesses that embrace and offer health and wellness services. In this three-hour event, each business will demonstrate its services with a presentation to event attendees. This allows potential clients to learn from the businesses directly what and how they provide their services. It also allows time to meet and ask questions of the businesses’ owner/staff.

The host: Spiritual Heart Yoga, 2509 Honolulu Ave., Montrose. Services include yoga classes, special workshops and events all supported by a quaint boutique of retail items for yoga practice, essential oils, candles, teas and more.

Presentation time: 12:15 p.m.

Presenters: Andea Insurance Services, which is located at 2620 Prospect Ave. in La Crescenta. A.I.S. specializes in assisting senior citizens and their families in navigating the complexities of the Medicare system and retirement planning. It’s a full-service insurance agency and offers a wide range of insurance and financial products from AAA-rated insurers. Presentation time: 12:20 p.m.

Concordia Massage & Bodywork of Montrose. Massage treatment specializing in deep tissue, therapeutic Swedish massage and prenatal massage. Presentation time: 12:25 p.m.

First raffle give-aways and open meet and greet: 12:30 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Presenters: Hybrid Wellness, 3217 N. Verdugo Road, No. 4, Glendale 91208. Progressive fitness and wellness consulting practice, including physical rehabilitation. Presentation time: 12:45 p.m.

Flying Colors with Amanda, www.flyingcolors.life Workshops that are therapeutic in nature; no counseling. Art and drumming as a meditative practice. Presentation time: 12:50 p.m.

Second raffle give-aways and open meet and greet: 12:55 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Presenters: Jazzercise, Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, 4469 Chevy Chase Dr., La Cañada. A pulse-pounding, beat-pumping, body-blasting fitness program. Presentation time: 1:15 p.m.

Rest Farmhouse Inspired, 2420 Honolulu Ave., Montrose. Rustic feeling café offering seasonal produce and gluten-free fare from a scratch kitchen. Presentation time: 1:20 p.m.

Food Alchemy Inc., foodalchemyinc.com Alkalizing, detoxifying and delicious coffee made from coffee beans that are nutrient dense and offer the body abundant health benefits. Presentation time: 1:25 p.m.

Third raffle give-aways and open meet and greet: 1:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Presenters: Anthony Subia Chiropractic, 200 N. Maryland Ave. No. 304, Glendale. Most chiropractic patients he has seen suffer from chronic pain. Anthony uses a combination of muscle release treatments as well as chiropractic manipulations. Also addresses chronically tense muscles in the abdomen which helps with back pain and digestion issues. Presentation time: 1:45 p.m.

Mind Flow Hypnosis, 3191 Casitas Ave, No. 121b, Los Angeles. Unique system providing results for weight loss, stress release and smoking cessation. Presentation time: 1:50 p.m.

Fourth raffle give-aways and open meet and greet: 1:55 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Presenters: Surface Fitness, 3470 Ocean View Blvd., Montrose/Sparr Heights. A unique and innovative fitness program for children of all ages that combines physical fitness and conditioning that teaches how to live a healthy lifestyle along with the benefits of high-quality nutrition. Presentation time: 2:15 p.m.

Fred Vallari’s Studios of Self Defense, 3601 Ocean View Blvd., Glendale 91208. Discover self-defense, fitness and fulfillment for adults and kids. Presentation time: 2:20 p.m.

Harmony Health, 3217 N. Verdugo Road, No 1, Glendale 91208. The physicians treat patients with a wide range of common health concerns, including acute and chronic conditions, pain management, mental health, weight loss and more. Primary care is the core of the practice, and the team truly enjoys helping patients navigate toward optimal health. They will also be introducing The IVY by HHMD. Presentation time: 2:25 p.m.

EVER Skin, Glendale 91208. “Beauty on a mission.” Good for you ingredients in skincare and makeup. Presentation time: 2:35 p.m.

Final raffle give-aways and open meet and greet: 2:40 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The raffle items are provided not only by the participating health and wellness businesses, but also by other MVCC members. As always, our members are actively participating and supporting the collaborative efforts.
