Goings on around the town

Ted Ayala

I know I mentioned this in last week’s column, but thank you again to Masis’s Bakery, Fratelli’s Pizza, and Classy Cuts at 2064 Verdugo Blvd. for the wonderful mixer they hosted for us last week. Great food and the promise of a great haircut for yours truly later this week. I hope Classy Cuts can do something about my unruly locks.

Time’s running out to join our annual golf classic at the Verdugo Hills Golf Course. Come meet us at the Verdugo Hills Golf Course (6433 La Tuna Canyon Rd., Tujunga) on Thursday, April 22 for a day of fun and great food. Verdugo Hills is a delightful 18 hole course that provides a relaxed ambiance in which to enjoy your game. Lunch starts at 11:00 a.m. with the shotgun following at noon. Entry is $45 per person and you can play as an individual or as a team scramble. Ample opportunities for sponsorship are provided with packages for $100, $300 and $500.
Don’t forget to join us afterward for a dinner and awards ceremony at Leo’s All-Star Sports Bar and Grill at 2941 Honolulu Ave., La Crescenta. All proceeds from this event will go to our scholarship program for outstanding seniors at Crescenta Valley High School. For more information, please contact Rick Dinger at (818)248-4500 or the MVCCC office at (818) 249-7171.
