On Monday, March 2 the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce is holding candidates forums for Glendale City Council and GUSD Board of Education at the Sparr Heights Community Center from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Here you will find out where the candidates stand on the important issues that affect our city and our schools. On Election Day, you will have the opportunity to vote for candidates to fill two seats on the Glendale City Council dais, two on the GUSD Board of Education and one on the Glendale Community College Trustee Board as well three charter amendments and a ballot measure. The forum will be hosted by our chamber president Eric Hamilton. We will have all seven city council candidates up here. Paula Devine and Dave Weaver, whose terms are up, as well as Erik Yesayan, Edith Fuentes, Vartan Gharpetian, Evelyne Poghosyan and Chahe Keuroghelian, are running. We will be asking questions specifically about the Far North Glendale area and what plans they have for the area. Again, please take this opportunity to hear all the candidates and issues so you can make an informed choice when you vote on April 7. Please make sure you are informed on each one of the candidates and know where they stand. You can follow the updates on www.glendalevotes.org to see each candidate’s statement and profile.

Do you have kids in the Glendale Unified School District? Do you have concerns or questions about the future of the schools in the area? Come hear what the GUSD school board candidates have to say. They will be the first to go before the community from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Then from 7:35 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. we will hear from the Glendale City Council candidates. Also remember that the website www.glendalevotes.org can help you get any information you need on candidates and issues. The City of Glendale maintains the site and constantly updates it. You can find your voting location, meet all the candidates and learn about the special ballot measures. If you would like to submit a question, please email mvcc@montrosechamber.org, log onto our website at www.montrosechamber.org or call (818) 249-7171 with your questions. You will also be able to submit written questions at the event. We need everyone’s participation to make this a great success! Sparr Heights Community Center is located at 1613 Glencoe Way, Glendale 91208.

Exercise your right to vote!
