Members of the Glendale-based philanthropic organization Las Candelas hosted a holiday store for students of the Hathaway- Sycamores Home in Altadena on Monday, Dec. 6.

Christmas cookies and gave each child a small gift as well. After the event, Hathaway-Sycamores teacher Rachel Villalpardo presented a framed, embroidered quilt to Las Candelas as a thank you for the support the organization brings to the students each month. Accepting the gift on behalf of Las Candelas were Monica Sierra, Glady Kabateck, Betty Ryan, Valery Moorhead and Cathy Keen.

The mission of Las Candelas is to provide programs and support for emotionally disturbed children.
