Ripon College has announced its dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester, recognizing academic excellence. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must achieve a 3.40 grade point average or higher on a 4.00 scale and complete at least 12 credits of regular letter-graded work.

James DeRose, class of 2021 from La Cañada Flintridge who is studying communication and exercise science – sports management, has been named to the spring 2019 dean’s list. DeRose is the child of James and Patricia DeRose IV from La Cañada Flintridge.

Tufts University recently announced the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester.

Among students earning dean’s list honors are: sophomore Justin Kouyoumdjian, senior Olivia Markowitz and junior Katharine Pinney of La Cañada Flintridge.

Dean’s list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

Tufts University, located on campuses in Boston, Medford/Somerville and Grafton, Massachusetts, and in Talloires, France, is recognized among the premier research universities in the United States.

The following students were among the approximately 1,778 graduates at the spring commencement ceremonies at Azusa Pacific University on May 4: From

La Canada Flintridge, Yujin Chu graduated with a Bachelor of Arts; Sebastian La graduated with a Bachelor of Arts; Joy Greene graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. From La Crescenta, Sang Yong Chung graduated with a Bachelor of Science; Madison Newbro graduated with a Bachelor of Music. From Sunland, Yoselin Rivas graduated with a Bachelor of Science. From Glendale, Kieran O’Neill and Adnan Tayyib graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.

Danika C. Christensen of La Canada was named to the dean’s list at Clemson University. Christensen, whose major is biological sciences, achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

The University of Rhode Island announced the spring 2019 dean’s list. Caitlin Smith of Glendale was named to the dean’s list.

To be included, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.

The following local students graduated from the University of San Diego on May 26: Marshall Kim and Rodrigo Torres of La Cañada. Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. Torres earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Mark Mollica of La Crescenta also graduated, earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering and graduated cum laude. Nicole Trombatore of Sunland graduated, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

The University of San Diego hosts 9,000 students from 77 countries and 44 states.
