Members of the Glendale Teachers Association held a “car parade” on Tuesday, Dec. 15 to raise awareness about concerns surrounding contract negotiation. The main concern, according to GTA President Taline Arsenian, is that the GTA/GUSD Distance Learning contract will expire on Dec. 31. GUSD stated it will continue to work with GTA to develop a MOU [Memorandum of Understanding]. Arsenian stated GTA members want to make certain their MOU for Distance Learning is extended for a definite period of time. She added it was agreed teachers would renegotiate if Public Health guidelines change, either allowing in-person class instruction or continued remote learning.
