Angeles Crest Highway and Salisbury Court in La Cañada, while on patrol a deputy discovered a vehicle that was traveling southbound on the Crest had been reported stolen. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and found the driver, a Palmdale man, 27, was driving on a suspended license, allegedly in possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools. Deputies also found credit cards not in the suspect’s name, a large amount of jewelry and other items that were from possible residential burglaries. The suspect was also allegedly in possession of tear gas.
The owner of the stolen vehicle was contacted. He told deputies he had left his vehicle at a service station in the 8400 block of Foothill Boulevard for repairs. When he returned he was told his vehicle had been stolen.
The suspect was arrested at 5 p.m.
July 30
2300 block of Del Mar Road in Montrose, the back tailgate of a truck that was equipped with a rear-view camera was stolen from the locked vehicle overnight.
July 29
4400 block of Rockland Place in La Cañada, a vehicle was ransacked and personal papers were stolen. The window of the vehicle had been left open after the driver parked the truck.
The theft occurred overnight.
July 28
900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, while shopping at a grocery store a woman’s wallet was stolen from her purse between 3 p.m. and 3:45p.m.
July 25
4500 block of Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta, a backpack, external hard drive and personal information were stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
July 24
900 block of Green Lane in La Cañada, deputies responded to an alarm activation at a home. Upon investigation, they found the window from a back door had been shattered and two pillows that were originally inside the home on the outside of the door. Several rooms had been ransacked. There was nothing reported stolen.
The incident occurred at 9:13 p.m.
July 21
4200 block of Oakwood Avenue in La Cañada, a large glass window at a house had been shattered and rooms ransacked. Nothing was reported stolen at the time.
The burglary occurred at 9:34 p.m.
May 26
1800 Verdugo Boulevard in La Cañada, a woman reported that her Rolex watch was stolen when she moved from La Cañada to Northridge sometime between May 26 an May 31.
