Goodbye October, Hello November!
*Rain Makes Everything Beautiful*!
The Crescenta Valley Town Council’s annual pancake breakfast on Nov. 5 was a success! We had a wonderful time starting early on Saturday morning at 5:30 and continuing to 1:30 p.m. Thank you to all our volunteers who made our event so very special; we couldn’t do it without them. A big thank you to our sponsors! Your generous donations allowed us to support our CVTC programs such as scholarship distributions and youth programs. Special thanks to local businesses Bob Smith Toyota, Gelsinger’s Meats, Byblos, La Cañada Keller Williams, The Donut Guy, Jenewein Estates, Evoke Dance Space, Compass Realty (Kerri Lewin), Crescenta Valley High School and Glendale Unified School District for their support and generosity. Also, we would like to thank County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and State Senator Anthony Portantino for their support.
On Nov. 3, the Crescenta Valley Outreach Committee organized a fentanyl awareness event! The keynote speaker was Ed Ternan of the foundation Song for Charlie.
Mark your calendars! The CVTC elections are on Nov. 18 from 5-8 p.m. and Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sadler Hall at St. Luke’s Church of the Mountains Episcopal Church at 2563 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta.
Illegal dumping continues to be a huge problem in our community. It is also a huge safety and health concern for our community members. It is a disgrace to our community to dump trash wherever people please. I drive around daily and see mattresses, furniture and other items that have been left out for days. Take pride in our community! We are not a dumping ground. Residents in La Crescenta or La Cañada Flintridge who have bulky items that have been dropped at their residence or in their neighborhood can call (888) 838-6746 or download The Works iPhone or Android applications. Anyone who witnesses illegal dumping in the unincorporated portion of LA County can call (888) 838-6746. We are in this together.
As always, I look forward to seeing you at our Nov. 17 general meeting starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of the La Crescenta Library, 2809 Foothill Blvd. Please contact CVTC at contact@thecvcouncil.com with questions or comments.
