NEWS FROM THE CRESCENTA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL

Meet Your State Representatives at CVTC’s General Meeting

Mark your calendar for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15! The Crescenta Valley Town Council will welcome State Senator Sasha Renée Pérez and Assemblymember Nick Schultz as featured speakers at our next general meeting.

This is a great opportunity for Crescenta Valley residents to meet two of our elected state representatives right here in our own community and in a smaller, more personal setting. Come hear directly from them about what is happening in Sacramento, the issues affecting our area and the work taking place at the state level and have an opportunity to ask questions about the issues that matter to you.

We hope to have a strong community turnout. Opportunities like this give residents direct access to their representatives without having to travel outside the Crescenta Valley, so please join us and bring your questions.

The evening will also include the CVTC Candidate Forum, featuring residents who are seeking to serve on the Crescenta Valley Town Council. This is your opportunity to meet the candidates, hear why they want to serve and learn more about the people interested in representing our community.

CVTC elections will be held on Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 at St. Luke’s of the Mountains in Sadler Hall. Community participation, both at our meetings and at the ballot box, is important to ensuring that the voices and concerns of Crescenta Valley residents continue to be heard.

CVTC also continues to closely monitor development throughout our community.

Construction is now underway at 3043-3047 Foothill Blvd. The project originally came before the town council in 2018-19 and includes a mixed-use development with condominiums and commercial space across six buildings on the approximately 1.43-acre site.

The proposed affordable housing development at Briggs Avenue and Foothill Boulevard has not yet returned to the board of supervisors for funding consideration after being pulled from the agenda in May. CVTC has continued its engagement with both the developer and Los Angeles County and updates will be provided to the community as additional information becomes available.

And finally … when is it going to feel like fall?

Summer certainly seems determined to hang on this year. I think most of us are more than ready for cooler mornings, crisp evenings and the changing fall colors around town. Hopefully October will finally bring us a little of that fall weather we have all been waiting for.Until then, we hope to see you at 7 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the La Crescenta Library community room, 2809 Foothill Blvd. Come meet your representatives, meet your town council candidates, ask questions and be part of the conversation shaping our community.
