Water, Water — But No Delivery
It looks like ReadyFresh bought Sparkletts and Primo bought Arrowhead, and then Primo bought ReadyFresh. The end result is that only Primo delivers five-gallon bottles of water to this area. The very definition of a monopoly. I’m sure Primo is way more interested in selling off the Sparkletts plant in Eagle Rock for many millions of dollars than keeping Sparkletts customers happy by actually delivering water.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t end there. When ReadyFresh converted the Sparkletts customers to its software system, the standing order of “refill” from Sparkletts didn’t exist in the new system so we (and probably every other Sparkletts customer) haven’t gotten any deliveries since last month.
On May 12, I logged into my old Sparkletts account where I saw the standing order of “refill” greyed out (means it’s not valid) and I was able to update my account and put in an order for four bottles. Since then, I’ve received four rescheduled deliveries (now Friday instead of Thursday), and the order was reduced to three instead of four. The topper was watching a ReadyRefresh water truck drive right by my house today!
So, if you got water delivered to your home or business in the last two weeks, and used to be a Sparkletts customer, what’s your secret?

Applauds Lawler’s Article
I want to thank you for publishing the article on Feb. 17 written by Mike Lawler: “The Local Fire Captain Who was an Arsonist.”
I am a retired Glendale fire engineer, 31 years, who worked with John Orr for at least 20-plus years. He taught us to be on the look-out for anyone suspicious – not just look for the fire and save people – but where did it start, how many places, smells etc.
In June 1990 I responded to the fire that was near Glendale Community College. It was a hot, windy day. John drove up right behind my fire engine. What we didn’t know at the time was that he had actually started that fire. Over 50 houses were lost that day.
John appeared to be a very good fire investigator, always knowing where the fire started but causing so many people so much grief and heartache.
