The Crescenta Valley varsity girls’ lacrosse team won its third consecutive game when it defeated league rival West Ranch on Tuesday, 18-14. Coach Boz Crowther’s team is 12-3 overall and 3-1 in league. The girls host Valencia on Friday at 4 p.m.
The CV varsity softball team hosts its final regular season game of 2019 today when it takes on Pacific League rival Arcadia at 3:30 p.m. The Falcons come in 13-0 in league, already having wrapped up the league title. Arcadia is second at 11-2. Thanks to dominate pitching by DeeDee Hernandez, the Falcons have only surrendered seven runs in league all year while scoring 181, the most of their competitors. The Falcons previously beat Arcadia 5-1 on March 28. CV is 20-5-1 overall, putting together another great season under fifth-year head coach Amanda Peek, who played both baseball and softball for CV during the early 2000s.
The Falcons baseball team is also enjoying success this year, albeit struggling a little more than their softball contemporaries. CV dropped the first game of a back-to-back against Arcadia at Tuesday at Stengel Field, 6-4. The team takes on Arcadia one last time in the regular season finale today at Arcadia High School at 7 p.m. The Apaches (12-1) have the league title wrapped up, and the Falcons (10-3) are still fighting for second place as Burbank is 9-4.
