L.A. Falcons Holding Introductory Day
The Los Angeles Falcons track and field team for boys and girls ages 5 to 15 will kick off its 2013 season with an introductory day on Feb. 16 at the Crescenta Valley High School track. The team, whose philosophy is that every child is a winner, will offer sprinting, distance races, hurdles and field events such as the long jump and shot put during its 20th annual season. The season runs Feb. 16 through June 1. Falcons team members will learn to excel through practice, friendly competition and team support.

Team registration will take place at Verdugo Park, located at the intersection of of Canãda and Colina in Glendale on Saturday, Jan. 26 and Feb.  2 at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Proof of age is required.

Boys’ Basketball Events
CVHS Boy’s Basketball will host its annual Youth Night on Friday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. against Muir High School. Students 12 and under are free with paid adults! Baked goods, cotton candy, root beer floats will all be available as well as the chance to get signed autographs from the varsity team. Youth teams will provide half time enjoyment.

Then on Thursday, Feb. 7, the CVHS boys’ basketball will honor and recognize their senior players Cole Currie, Kris Jabourian, Elio Sabo, Ryan Schloessmann, Narbeh Grigorian, Elliot Wilson and Kevin Yoo and their families at 6:30 p.m. against Burroughs.

Crescenta Valley High School gym is located in the 4400 block of Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta.

CSA Registration Continues
Crescenta Sports Association 2013 spring season sign ups continue. Players can register online or via mail or at upcoming tryouts. The tryouts will be held on Jan. 26 at Montrose Park between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tryout times vary, so visit the website for more information: www.playCSAball.com.

CSA offers baseball for youth ages 4-12 (age as of April 30, 2013) and softball for ages 5-14 (age as of Jan. 1, 2013) regardless of residence. All players from La Crescenta, La Cañada, Glendale, Tujunga, Sunland and surrounding communities are invited to join.
