Wide-eyed children looked forward to seeing what was around the corner at the annual Haunted House maze hosted by the Church of Scientology Mission of the Foothills in Montrose on Halloween night.

Ghosts, zombies, mummies, witches and the like were waiting to be discovered in the mock mini-graveyard, the spooky mansion room, the witch’s lair with her potions and pet dragons, and more.

“The Church’s Haunted House is so much fun to go through. I love taking my child and her friends there. It’s really well done, kid-friendly, and they get to do some trick-or-treating inside. It’s always our first stop when we go to Montrose on Halloween,” said Alicia Toth, a Foothills resident. The most frequent comment heard was “So awesome!” with others adding it was “perfect,” “spooky,” “amazing,” “very well designed” and “professional.”

Mission Holder Stacy Kitchens said, “Being family-oriented, we love being part of Montrose’s tradition of providing a fun and safe holiday experience for children in the foothills area. Our staff and parishioners really enjoy creating the Haunted House as a gift to our community, and we try to improve on it each year.”
