The La Cañada Presbyterian Church Parent Education Program (LCPC Parent Ed) kicked off its 45th year with ongoing registration from Sept. 11 – Sept. 15 for classes. The program boasts of providing quality educational classes led by reputable staff for parents of children from newborns to young adults – in addition to the popular grand-parenting class already in its fifth year.

In 2023, 16 daytime classes and a growing slate of evening and online classes will be offered. Day classes run weekly from through May and Parent Express classes run in four- or six-week sessions and include Parents of Teens and The Art of Marriage in the fall and The Art of Fatherhood, which returns in the spring for dads of children of all ages.

In preparation for the new program year, a welcome tea for all staff, board and ministry support team (MST) members was held on Sept. 5 at the home of Ashley Barrett. This year’s LCPC Parent Ed team includes staff members Anne Bierling (director), Amanda Baughman, Nanette Brown, Teresa Chiu, Paula Giboney, Jennifer Gordon, Heather Ehrhardt, Daniela Kim, Jenn Kliewer, Cathy Lukesh, Ellen Mackle, Sarah Montes, Vicki Rekedal, Katy Riddell, Jan Roberts, Sandy Lee Schaupp, Tracy Tobias, Jana Van Dyck and Sloan Walsh. The team is supported by board volunteers Ashley Barrett (board chair), Elizabeth Angiuli, Amanda Baughman, Stephanie Ferguson, Lauren Gallidoro, Kelsey Hendrix, Annie Hewett, Natalie Hubbard, Carrie Kingston, Julie Milbrodt, Charlotte Miller, Sarah New, Jenny Ryan, Amber Gerhardt-Serrano and Natasha Wood.
