LCPC Offers Workshop on Caring for Hurting People

La Cañada Presbyterian Church is offering a Stephen Ministry Introductory Workshop on Saturday Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. This half-day, three-session workshop is designed to help congregations catch a vision for strengthening their caring ministry through equipping laypeople as caregivers. During this event, participants will also develop caregiving skills they can use right away.

Stephen Ministry congregations, such as LCPC, equip and train lay caregivers to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. LCPC has offered this caregiving ministry to the community since 1991.

Topics presented at the workshop include 1) Caring for those Experiending Grief, 2) An introduction to Stephen Ministry, and 3) How to Care in a Distinctively Christian Way. Light refreshments will be served.

The cost of the workshop is $15 per person, or $50 for a group of four or more from the same congregation. For more information about this workshop and/or to register, call (314) 428-2600 or visit www.smore.com/v5yxs. Members and friends of LCPC may register by calling (818) 790-6708 or by email to melanie@lacanadapc.org.
