The annual Humanitarian Aid Project and Relief Society Women’s Broadcast of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4550 Raymond Ave.
The project begins at 3:30 p.m.  Attendees will assemble hygiene kits which will be donated to a local charity and to LDS Humanitarian Services. A light dinner will be served at 4 p.m. followed by the Church’s annual Relief Society Women’s Broadcast from Salt Lake City, Utah to all adult women throughout the world.
Local congregations from Sunland to La Cañada and Glendale have been collecting donations for assembling the kits including combs, soap, hand towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste. The LDS Humanitarian Services distributes these kits throughout the world wherever disaster strikes or a need exists. The kits and other emergency items are stored in key locations for shipping on short notice.
The Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the oldest and largest women’s organization in the world and its members give service on local, national, and international levels.
The annual Broadcast will feature remarks from Relief Society and Church leaders, as well as a special women’s choir.
The event is free and all adult women are warmly invited to attend. For more information, contact Robin Johnson at rllj@yahoo.com.
