LCPC Parent Ed invites the community to a free informational evening about AI on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026 from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the LCPC Fellowship Hall. The evening, lead by Jamie Lewsadder, LCUSD assoc. superintendent of Tech Services, will lead conversation on AI literacy, designed for parents, educators and community members alike. There is no registration for this event.

Topics covered will include: what AI actually is (and isn’t) and why understanding the basics matters for every household; how to keep kids safe as AI tools become more embedded in daily life, from chatbots to recommendation algorithms; and what’s appropriate at each age including practical guidance on the tools, permissions and conversations that make sense for elementary, middle and high school aged children.

This isn’t a tech talk for specialists. It’s a plain-language guide to support our children in becoming confident, capable and safe digital citizens in an AI-powered world.

LCPC Parent Ed classes are open for fall registration. To learn more and register please visitwww.lcpcparented.org.
