The Parent Education Program at La Cañada Presbyterian Church (LCPC) capped the end of its 46th year by celebrating the program’s achievements. The celebration was held for the staff, board and MST at the home of Julie Milbrodt.

The evening began with an al fresco dinner followed by commendations for the team by executive director Anne Bierling. In addition to expressing gratitude for its team members, board chair Ashley Barrett presented thank you gifts reflecting the theme verse: “Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3

As LCPC Parent Education wraps up its 46th year, the team celebrated that the 2024-25 program drew 650 participants. Other highlights of the year included a successful fundraising gala, supporting other local non-profit organizations including Door of Hope, Younglives Pasadena, The Oasis of Hollywood and Young Life Capernaum while also providing support resources to dozens of families in distress through the Erskine Compassion Fund, which was created in 2018 in memory of Cathy and Christopher Erskine. LCPC Parent Education classes also expanded into East Hollywood, which was funded by the Kim Gilmour-Bowser Outreach Fund. Contributions can be made to both ongoing funds online at bit.ly/parentedgala24 or by check to LCPC Parent Ed (designated to the Erskine Compassion Fund or the Gilmour-Bower Outreach fund and mailed to LCPC Parent Ed at 626 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada, CA 91011).

Nanette Brown was also recognized during the year for her 30 years of service and seeding new parent education classes @ the Presbyterian Church of the Master in Mission Viejo.

Registration opened on May 7 for a variety of classes offered at LCPC; classes are filling fast, so don’t miss this opportunity: lcpcparented.org.
