‘RAPP’ at CV United Methodist

 

“Read and Practice Peacemaking,” also known as RAPP, a reading and activism group from Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church, will be presenting a powerful, yet to be released film on Friday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

“Cast The First Stone” is produced by Highest Common Denominator, award-winning documentary makers. It shows a drama club in a high security prison in Louisiana as inmates prepare and perform a play on the life of Jesus. http://castthefirststone-themovie.com/

After the filming, Progressive Christians Uniting will be participating in a discussion.

Tuesday Table Talk 

 

On Tuesday, June 3, Bethel Church will show the film “The Rookie” (rated G).  In this inspiring true story, Jim Morris strikes an intriguing bargain with the Texas high school baseball team he coaches: If they make the playoffs, he’ll try out for the big leagues.

The video will be preceded by a potluck supper. The potluck starts at 6:30 p.m., the presentation starts at 7:15 p.m., followed by dessert and discussion at about 9:15 p.m. Free.

Grief Support Series Offered by La Cañada Presbyterian Church

 

Grief Share is a six-week grief support group offered at La Canada Presbyterian Church that is on Sundays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the church library. The support session will be led by Patrice Gibson, a Stephen minister at LCPC, as well as Rev. Beth Palmer and Rev. Susan Wallace Moriarty. It centers on a series of DVDs that address various aspects of grief. Each meeting will also include a group discussion on a daily topic. All are welcome to attend.
