St. Joseph Table at St. Bede

Monsignor Antonio Cacciapuoti, pastor of St. Bede the Venerable Roman Catholic Church in La Cañada Flintridge, is shown blessing the St. Joseph table at the annual celebration held each year by the Italian Catholic Federation branch at the parish.

Each year on the celebration of the feast day of St. Joseph (the foster father of Jesus) the ICF members of Branch 374 collect foods, pastries and other Italian “goodies” for sale. The proceeds go to support ICF charities.

According to tradition, the St. Joseph Table began in Sicily to collect food for the poor who would come to the table and gather the food made by members of the parish. Today the food are still prepared by parishioners but sold to raise money for charities that serve the poor.
