We are saddened to announce the passing of Paul Robert Mitchell on March 9. Paul was born in Fremont, California to June Collier, who later married Paul’s adoptive dad Willard Mitchell. Paul’s legacy will be carried on by his wife Kym, daughter Jenna, son Julian, daughter-in-law Sierra and grandson Tate.

Paul was a larger than life personality and always found a way to make an impact on the lives of everyone he met. As a family, we carry his love for music and for food, continuing to listen to Joe Sample and cook his cedar plank salmon.

Any memorial contributions can be made to Friends of the Big Bear Valley Alpine Zoo where he spent his time volunteering as a docent, sharing his knowledge of all of the rescue animals.
