Jan. 10, 1937 – Sept. 30, 2026
With heavy hearts, we share that Victor Frank Cassara, 89, of Sunland joined his wife in heaven on Sept. 30.
Victor was born in Sun Valley, California to the parents of Anna Vernaci Cassara and Frank Cassara. He was one of five brothers: Joe, Mike, John and Bill. In 1940 the family moved to Tujunga.
Victor met Ruth on a blind date; he was 16 and she was 14 – and it was love at first sight. A USMC veteran, Victor was honorably discharged after serving in Japan. They married on June 23, 1956 and lived in Sunland throughout their lives. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife Ruth Cassara after 62 years together.
For 57 years, he ran White Star Swimming Pool Plastering in Sun Valley with his brother John. He was a remarkably hard working man who poured his heart into everything he did. Beyond his fierce work ethic, he will be remembered most for his immense generosity. His open heart and giving nature left an undeniable mark on the lives of all who knew him.
He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa. We will miss him dearly and feel grateful for the many wonderful years we shared.
Surviving family include: daughter Carolyn Cassara Miller; son Victor Cassara Jr. and his wife; Vincent and Lori Cassara. He also leaves behind his grandson Duane and his wife Christi Miller; grandson Brian Miller; granddaughter Elizabeth Cassara and her fiancé Dylan Roderick; grandson Vincent Cassara Jr.; granddaughter Maile and her husband Kevin Dwyer; granddaughter Amanda Cassara; and great-grandchildren Paris and Luna Miller.
Victor will be laid to rest next to his wife at San Fernando Mission Catholic Cemetery.
