June 3, 1932 – Aug. 15, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of James (Jim) Arthur Edinboro who passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the age of 94. 

Born on June 3, 1932 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Austin and Mary Edinboro, Jim joined the army in 1952 and served in Germany before moving as a civilian to Colorado and finally settling for good in the greater Los Angeles area. 

An endless font of long jokes, bad puns and stories of old Los Angeles, Jim made friends in unlikely places. In the last years of his life, he became a daily staple at the La Cañada Panera where he was cherished by a wide circle of regulars. 

Above all, Jim was a deeply devoted husband to his wife of 39 years Marilyn Edinboro. A second marriage for them both, they spoke often of how blessed they had been to find each other. They loved each other joyfully, wholeheartedly and without cynicism. They delighted most in traveling around the world together, their home lined with photo albums sporting the titles of their many adventures. They poured their mutual love of travel into buying a travel agency: Lee Hansen Travel Service and building it over 20 years of stewardship to become a longstanding La Cañada icon of which they were both duly proud. Marilyn’s death in 2012 was a loss from which Jim would never recover. 

We take comfort in knowing that as Jim leaves us he joins Marilyn, as well as three of his beloved children: son Terry Edinboro; stepson, Peter Prkacin Jr.; and stepdaughter Debbie Bermudez. 

Jim is survived by his stepdaughter Cindi Ferreira and and her husband Les; grandchildren: Jennifer (and husband Pooyan), Danielle (and wife Courtney), Michael, and Alysha (and wife Jean); great-grandchildren: Laleh, Mateen, Maxton and Adalyn. 

While no services have been set, Jim and Marilyn’s ashes will rest in their favorite place to travel: Maui, Hawaii.
