William (Bill) Arkell Warner Jr.

June 18, 1941 – April 14, 2025

William (Bill) Arkell Warner Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Glendale on April 14. He was 83 years old.

Born on June 18, 1941 to William and Elizabeth Warner, he lived a life filled with purpose, laughter, adventure and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.

Bill’s 40-year career in the insurance industry included work with notable companies such as Pacific Indemnity (later becoming Chubb) and several respected local agencies, after which he eventually retired. Retirement, however, only opened the door to his other passions.

A lifelong learner, Bill attended multiple schools throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, graduating from Pierce Junior College and attending the University of Arizona. His passion for service led him to volunteer thousands of hours through organizations like Rotary International, Kiwanis (eventually becoming president of the Jewel City chapter and years later treasurer), and the Glendale Elks Club. He believed in giving back and his leadership helped drive countless charitable campaigns and community projects.

Bill was a man of quiet humor, kindness and humility. Even through difficult health challenges later in life, he never complained. His caregivers often remarked on his positivity and grace, even in the face of great pain.

Bill was the beloved husband of Leann Warner, his partner in life and love, for nearly 59 years. Their marriage was marked by deep affection, mutual respect and a shared love for exploration and family. Together they raised two children – Stephen and Michele (Shelly) – and built a family that became Bill’s greatest joy. He was affectionately known as “Boppa” to his adored grandchildren Nicole, Hailey, Jeffrey and Mason, and he was their biggest supporter, never missing a sporting event, science fair, music concert or school play.

A private graveside service was held for family and a celebration of Bill’s life was held at the Glendale Elks Lodge for family and friends.

Above all, Bill’s legacy is one of love, loyalty and adventure. In his honor, the family encourages all who knew Bill to live life to the fullest, serve others with heart and always seek joy in life’s adventures.
