Aug. 17, 1961 – May 9, 2025
Mary Ann Roberts was born at home Aug. 17, 1961, at 6:45 a.m. She passed on May 9. Her parents were Lance Mosdell, an electrical engineer, and Anne, a secretary.
Lance used his shoelace to tie off her umbilical cord, which made The Ledger – the local paper. As an infant, she was also featured in the newspaper as the “Adohr Milk” baby.
When she was 2 her mother taught her to play the piano and read music!
In her school years, she attended Valley View Elementary, Clark Jr. High and graduated with honors from Crescenta Valley High. She then went on to attend Glendale College where she majored in graphic arts. Initially, she intended to work in fine arts but instead she worked in aircraft, starting at Rockwell International as a technical artist. Her work involved creating schematics for the B1 bomber. Later, she moved to Lockheed in Burbank. She acquired a top-secret clearance with the FBI and worked on various projects, including the TR-1 (the U2) spy plane, the SR-71 Blackbird, and the stealth F117A fighter.
Mary was an avid skier. She was also a huge Dodgers fan and even got to meet and get an autograph from her favorite player Andre Ethier, which was on her bucket list!
In 1988, she married and gave birth to her only child Nicole, whom she adored. However, the marriage ended. Seven years later, in 1996, she met the love of her life Bryan Kroll who she was with for 29 years. They lived happily, raising three children all the while until she was suddenly taken by pancreatic cancer. Nicole and Bryan were by her side at the time of her passing. She left no other family behind.
Mary Ann loved many people and if you were her friend, you knew it! She will be greatly missed.
