Daniel “Danny” Blanch Jr.

Jan. 2, 1943-April 17, 2025

The world became a little less bright on April 17 with the passing of Daniel “Danny” Blanch.

Born on Jan. 2, 1943 in New York, Danny’s infectious laughter and unending humor brought joy to everyone around him.

He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War operating Nike Hercules missiles. He then traveled the country with classic Broadway shows until he settled down in Los Angeles. He became a part of I.A.T.S.E. Local 33 and worked Broadway, TV, award shows and rock and roll shows. He was a proud card-carrying union member for almost 60 years.

Danny was a devoted father to Katie and Billy, a loving husband to Patty and a loyal friend to many. Danny had a way of telling stories and jokes that kept you intrigued and laughing. He had a way of lighting up the room when he laughed.

A memorial service celebrating Danny’s life will take place at the Burbank Elks Lodge on May 19 at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, an organization Danny cared deeply about.
