William ‘Bill’ Brewer

Feb. 16, 1938 – March 14, 2019

William “Bill” Brewer passed away comfortably and at peace with his loving family by his side on Thursday, March 14 at his home in Glendale.

He was born in Akron, Ohio to Stanley and Mabel Brewer on Feb. 16, 1938. He graduated from North High School in Akron and then attended Kent State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering and his master’s degree in business administration. Bill also graduated from the USC Executive MBA Program, serving as president.

Bill’s stellar career began as a young 17-year-old at King Machine in Akron, and he continued working through his college years. His strong work ethic, intelligence and ability to understand others served him well in becoming president of Sargent Industries, Adams-Rite Manufacturing and Sierracin Corporation.

Bill made an impact as a successful businessman, a faithful friend and a lover of golf, especially as a longtime member of Oakmont Country Club. Above all, he leaves a legacy of sincere love for his family.

Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years Anna; his four children Cindy, Beth Allen (Bill), Kathleen Perasso (Rick), and Buddy (Krista). His nine grandchildren include Cole and Paige Kenyon; Will and Bryan Allen; Anthony, Matthew and Christina Perasso; and Jose and Grace Brewer. Also, Bill leaves his sister Sandra Saltsman (Bill) along with relatives in both California and Ohio.

A memorial service and celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 23 at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale.

As time goes on, Bill’s shining example of humility, love and placing family first will forever remain with us.
