Rosemont Preserve Guided Tour with Nancy Steele
What’s better than a winter’s day at Rosemont? Join AFC’s Conservation director and AFC co-founder Nancy Steele for some holiday cheer and a short hike at the Rosemont Preserve on Saturday, Dec. 23 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Refreshments and hands-on activities will be provided!
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. Please bring water, a hat and wear sturdy shoes to walk the trail.
This event is free to the public and suitable for all ages. Rain cancels event. Sorry, no pets please.

LCHS Holding Recycling Event
The La Cañada High School Green Club, and the LCHS Engineering and Robotics clubs are sponsoring a community e-waste collection day on Saturday, Jan. 6 at the high school. LCHS will be accepting electronic waste (e-waste) items from the community at no charge and will work with a specialized e-waste management company to have all of the discarded electronic waste processed for recycling.
From 8 a.m. to noon, the public is invited to drop off the computers, notebooks, laptops, monitors, LCDs, projectors, TVs, printers, faxes, etc. at the LCHS parking lot by the pool/south gym. Basically, any device that plugs into the wall or is battery operated will be accepted.
Proceeds from the recycled electronics, which are calculated based on the weight of all the e-waste items collected during that event, will benefit clubs and educational programs at LCHS.

Free Income Tax Preparation
Beginning Friday, Feb. 2, and continuing through Friday, April 13, residents can receive free income tax preparation from AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, a tax-exempt charity of AARP. Membership in AARP is not required.
Free income tax preparation will be provided on Tuesdays and Fridays at La Crescenta Library, 2809 Foothill Blvd. (corner of La Crescenta Avenue). Enter from the upper level parking lot.
The hours are: Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Taxpayers will be helped on a “first-come-first-served” basis; advanced reservations are not available.
