CVTC Meets Tonight
The Crescenta Valley Town Council meets tonight, Thursday, at 7 p.m. in the community room of the La Crescenta Library. Among the items on the agenda is the presentation of the Spirit Award to those recognized in the community for their holiday display. Supervisor Michael Antonovich will install the 2015 council and its new officers and the council will host a brief holiday party.
All are invited to attend. The library is located at 2809 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta.
Blood Drive at USC-VHH
USC-VHH is having a community blood drive on Friday, Jan. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. in Council Room B, located on the fourth floor.
Blood donors must be in good health, be at least 17 years of age, bring photo identification, weigh at least 110 pounds, drink plenty of water, eat a nutritious meal, and have not received tattoos within the last 12 months. All donors will receive an American Red Cross holiday long-sleeve T-shirt.

La Crescenta Library Open on Sundays
The La Crescenta Library is now open on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Since the library’s opening in February 2010 it has become the place to go for students and avid readers. That popularity had fueled the request for the library to open seven days a week.
The La Crescenta Library is located at 2809 Foothill Blvd. at the northwest corner of La Crescenta Avenue and Foothill Boulevard. The hours are Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1p.m to 5 p.m.
