4800 block of Crown Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge, a jewelry box was stolen from a dresser in a home that has been under construction. The dresser had been moved from one room to another for several months before the owners realized the jewelry was missing. The incident happened between Jan 18 to Nov. 10.
2900 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, a Crescenta Valley High School student reported that one of his textbooks was stolen from his backpack in September. He went to purchase a new book from the school and was told he needed to report the first book stolen.
Dec. 8
7700 block of Foothill Boulevard in Tujunga, deputies conducted a routine traffic stop and during an investigation discovered narcotics in the vehicle. The deputies first asked the 24-year-old male driver and his two passengers to exit the vehicle. The driver allegedly told officers he did not have a valid driver’s license in his possession because it had been mutilated and he threw it away. Deputies discovered the man had paraphernalia and a tin box containing methamphetamine in the pockets of his pants.
A search of the vehicle discovered marijuana, clear plastic bags and an electronic scale. Numerous silver serviceware items, a money clip, folding knife and a glass elephant figurine were also reportedly found in the vehicle. The man allegedly told deputies that he had bought the items from someone that morning and had planned to sell them at a pawnshop, however the pawnbroker refused them reportedly because he thought they were not real silver. It was determined the items were stolen.
The man was arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, suspicion of possession of marijuana and receiving stolen property. The arrest occurred at 4:56 p.m.
Dec. 7
2900 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, a cellphone, iPod and cash were stolen from an unlocked locker in the physical education locker room at Crescenta Valley High School. The student said he shared the locker with two other students. Two of the boys had placed their items in the locker and went to class. When they returned, they discovered the locker was open and the items gone. Later that day the student was contacted by someone who had found his cellphone in the locker room. The other items are still missing.
The incident occurred between 2:05 p.m. and 3 p.m.
3100 block of Henrietta Avenue in La Crescenta, a mailbox was vandalized overnight.
4500 block of Castle Road in La Cañada, a wallet, diamond ring and laptop computer were stolen from a vehicle overnight.
2100 block Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, $3000 worth of items were stolen from Joann’s Fabric store by a 50 to 65-year-old woman described as Hispanic or Armenian, 5’ tall, weighing 225 to 250 pounds, with short red curly hair. She reportedly placed items in her purse and out the door without attempting to pay. The thefts occurred over several weeks.

2600 block of Prospect Avenue in La Crescenta, tools were stolen from the rear bed of a truck and two mountain bikes were stolen from a front porch overnight.
