Identification Needed in Distraction Wallet Theft

On Oct. 21 a woman was shopping at the Marhsall’s at 2065 Verdugo Blvd. She placed her purse in the child seat area of her shopping cart. A young man, described as Hispanic, 5’7” to 5’9” tall with a thin build and medium complexion, approached her. The man told her he was shopping for his grandmother and asked if the woman could help him decide on which blouse to purchase. He distracted her by showing her several items, then appeared to suddenly become disinterested and quickly walked away.

Later the woman realized her wallet was missing, likely stolen by a second suspect described as a white or Hispanic woman with a thin build with long blond hair. It is thought by police the female suspect stole the wallet while the man was distracting her.

The  suspects later used the victim’s credit cards at two Glendale stores.
