Historical Society Plans Holiday Party
A Christmas party hosted by the Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley on Monday, Dec. 8 at 7p.m. in the La Crescenta Library community room
The public is welcome. Those who attend are encouraged to bring a snack or treat to share. Drinks will be provided.
There will be historical photos on display and gift buying opportunities including the recently released “Los Angeles Wine,” the history of winemaking locally from the Missions to the modern vineyard at Deukmejian Park, signed by the author. Other local history books will be for sale, all signed by the authors.
Featured entertainment will be Christmas/winter-themed silent movies hand cranked by Crescenta Valley’s “Silent Movie Man” Joe Renaudo. Live music will accompany.

ABC7 – Spark of Love Toy Drive
The Glendale Fire Department has collaborated with ABC7 for the 22nd annual Spark of Love Toy Drive.
The focus of this campaign is to provide holiday cheer to underserved children in our community. The fire department will collect new, unwrapped donations of toys, crafts, games, books, and sports equipment to provide to children up to 18 years old.
The community can support the Spark of Love campaign by bringing new, unwrapped donations to local Glendale fire station from through Dec. 22. All of the donations collected at the Glendale fire stations will be distributed to local community members.

GAMC to Host Special Tree Lighting
The community is invited to a special tree lighting ceremony at Glendale Adventist Medical Center (West Tower Lobby) on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m.
According to Healthcare Foundation President Irene Bourdon, this event is a way to “acknowledge the beginning of the holiday season, to offer support and love to those who have lost a loved one, and to honor the special people in our lives.”
Proceeds from the tree lighting ceremony will benefit hospice and bereavement support programs.
