A Note of Thanks from Prom Plus Board

From the Prom Plus Board
Prom Plus would like to thank the community for its support of the recent Prom Plus Holiday Boutique.

The community has always been very supportive of the organization in its efforts to give Crescenta Valley High School students a safe place to go after prom. The cost of the event is about $25,000 and each year we, the board, work to raise the funding so kids can have their Prom Plus.

We partner with the Crescenta Cañada YMCA, which we transform into party for the more than 400 students who attend each year. The event includes a bungee run, mechanical bull, zip line, casino and much more.

What some may not realize is that to do this for our kids takes hundreds of volunteer hours.

Throughout the year, the Prom Plus board sponsors several fundraisers including Taste of Montrose, back to school and open house barbecues, and the holiday boutique.

This year we moved our traditional boutique from mid-December to Nov. 15 with the hope to catch the pre-holiday shoppers. You came out in force.

We raised about $3,000 and are so grateful to everyone who supported our event from those who brought baked goods to sell to the vendors and, of course, shoppers. Diana Tyson directed these efforts to help make the boutique the success it was.

The community’s support and purchases will help our organization continue to “Save Lives One Prom at a Time.”
