‘Knock-Knock’ Burglary Crew Arrested Near La Cañada Flintridge

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. Major Crimes Bureau investigators believe there may be additional victims and/or witnesses in the “Knock-Knock” Burglary Crew case in the La Cañada Flintridge area. Suspects Walker, Murphy and Garcia were arrested on Nov. 10 in the La Cañada Flintridge area. Anyone who was victimized by these suspects are urged to come forward.

Investigators learned that on Nov. 10 a deputy from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept.’s (LASD) – Crescenta Valley Station observed a Lexus sedan traveling southbound on Angeles Crest Highway in La Cañada Flintridge in a reckless manner.  The driver of the Lexus entered the southbound 2 Freeway and continued driving erratically and at a high rate of speed.

Upon the deputy initiating a traffic stop, the driver of the Lexus refused to yield and a short pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was cancelled due to the suspect driving at a high rate of speed. Shortly after the cancellation of the pursuit, the driver of the Lexus was involved in a traffic collision near the 2 Freeway and Mountain Street exit in Glendale.

Two of the three occupants (suspects) that were inside the Lexus ran from the vehicle. Crescenta Valley deputies responded to the scene and were able to detain all three suspects. Jewelry and other miscellaneous property that was located at the scene of the crash was linked to at least one residential burglary which occurred earlier in the morning on the 800 block of Lynnhaven Lane in the city of La Cañada Flintridge. The suspects are believed to have committed a second residential burglary earlier the same morning on the 5500 block of Burning Tree Drive in La Cañada Flintridge.

Suspect Murphy (driver of the Lexus) is from Los Angeles. He was booked on the charge of residential burglary (459 PC, two counts), hit and run with injury (20001(a) CVS), and evading a peace officer (2800.2 CVC).

Suspect Walker of Los Angeles was booked on two counts of residential burglary (459 PC).
Suspect Garcia, of Los Angeles, was booked on two counts of residential burglary (459 PC).

Suspects Murphy and Walker will be arraigned today, Friday, in Pasadena Superior Court.
