Nov. 10

2500 block of Montrose Avenue in Montrose, a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle overnight.

 

Nov. 8

900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a woman reported that while she was shopping her wallet was stolen from her purse. The only thing she thought was unusual during her shopping trip was when she was approached by a woman, described only as Hispanic. The woman asked the victim questions concerning some of the items in the aisle. The victim now feels the woman was distracting her so someone else could steal her wallet.

The victim was notified by her bank that someone had attempted to use one of her credit cards after the theft.

The theft occurred between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.

 

Nov. 7

1800 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a purse with personal items was stolen from an unlocked vehicle between 3:45 p.m. and 4:50 p.m.

 

2300 block of Caldero Lane in Montrose, the side passenger window was smashed and a purse was stolen from a vehicle overnight.

 

Nov. 6

400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, an employee reported that, as he was working at the drive-up window of a fast food restaurant, a customer pulled up to the window and said he was not charged for an apple pie and would like to pay for it. While the employee was continuing the conversation the man took a bite from the apple pie and then threw it at him through the window. The man then grabbed a milkshake that was in the cup holder of his car and threw that through the window.

The man then drove to the parking lot and walked up to the window, grabbed the next customer’s food off the outside counter, and pushed it off the counter. The man then ran back to his car and left the area.

The man was later stopped by deputies and arrested at Hahamongna Park.

The incident at the restaurant occurred at 10:45 a.m.

 

Nov. 5

2300 block of Crescent Avenue in Montrose, a vehicle was damaged by an unknown object that scratched along both sides of the truck. Another scratch was found on the tailgate of the vehicle as well.

The vandalism occurred overnight.

 

5200 block of Harter Lane in La Cañada, deputies responded to a burglary alarm call. While checking the area of the home they found an open gate into the backyard and a backdoor ajar and broken. A search inside the home, wires were exposed from an alarm panel that had been ripped from the wall. In addition a telephone was ripped fro the wall.  It appeared a laptop computer was stolen. The burglary occurred at 3:10 a.m.

 

Nov. 3

2200 block of Del Mar Road in La Crescenta, a resident reported that someone had entered his home and stole an antique Spanish American war flag that had been in his family for generations. The framed flag hung on his kitchen wall for over three decades. There were no signs of forced entry to the home, and nothing else appeared to be stolen. The theft occurred  between Nov. 3-5.
