Update:
On Tuesday, Nov. 8 Montrose Search and Rescue Unit (MSAR) were searching for lost hunters when they heard several gun shots as if to signal the searchers. Altadena and Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Teams were activated to assist MSAR with the search. Los Angeles County Fire Dept. Copter 15 also responded to help in the search since LASD Air 5 had been redeployed to the Azusa shooting incident.
Shortly before 7 p.m., Copter 15 located and hoisted two of the missing hunters from a remote area of the Angeles National Forest. Two other hunters were located approximately 1,000 yards away from the first two hunters and also hoisted out. All four hunters were flown to the command post and subsequently transported to their vehicle. None of the missing hunters had any immediate medical concerns and had become disoriented while hunting, resulting in their becoming lost.
The four drove themselves out of the National Forest without further assistance.

Montrose Search & Rescue Looking for Hunters
Montrose Search & Rescue has been called out to look for four hunters who have been missing since Sunday. The hunters, who are from Ventura County, were expected home by 6 p.m. on Sunday. Their vehicle was located on Angeles Crest Highway, mile marker 52.56, near the Christian Camp. The US Forest Service and the Forest Mounted Unit have been actively searching the area. The hunters are all described as adults in the their 30s, experienced hikers and hunters. A command post has been established at the Christian Camp near where the vehicle was found, according to Sgt. Blansfield with the CV Sheriff’s Station.
