2400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a window at Serge’s Automotive was smashed. The owner reported that over a week ago someone had smashed a wine bottle on the ground on the other side of the building where the window was smashed. When he discovered the window smashed on Monday, a wine bottle was also found on the file cabinet just inside the window.
The incident occurred between Nov. 1 and Nov. 3.

2000 block of Cross Street in La Crescenta, an SD card for a cellphone was stolen from a mailbox overnight.
Oct. 28
2900 block of Fairmount Avenue in La Crescenta, a sergeant with the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station was flagged down by a person who told her he had witnessed a man who may have burglarized an apartment whose tenant was not at home. He also noticed the mailbox belonging to the tenant had been opened. The sergeant found the apartment door was ajar and the kitchen window screen had been removed and left on the ground. The screen on the living room window was also removed. There was a metal ice pick and pliers on the floor at the front door. After an investigation, the home was found to be ransacked. The suspect was described by witnesses as a man, 5’10” tall with a thin build wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt, black pants and carrying a white satchel.
A search for the suspect was met with negative results at 1:35 a.m.
Oct. 27
2900 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, money was stolen from a locker in the gymnasium at Crescenta Valley High School. The student reported to the school resource officer that she had placed the money in the front zippered pocket of her backpack just prior to her physical education class, placed the backpack in her locker, locked it and went to class. After her class she saw her combination lock was open.
The theft occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m.
Oct. 24
600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, several bottles of alcohol were stolen from the Gelson’s Market. A man had entered the store and began filling a hand basket with expensive alcohol and a cheese plate. He then exited the store without attempting to pay for the items and entered a white sedan that was parked in front of the store and fled the area.
The incident occurred at 2:10 p.m.
