On Thursday, Oct. 29, Glendale Police Sergeant Michael Woolner surrendered to the Burbank Police Dept. Woolner has been charged with a violation of Penal Code section 502 for knowingly accessing and without permission taking, copying or making use of any data from a computer system (phone).

After receiving an internal report, the Glendale Police Dept. initiated administrative and criminal investigations. The criminal investigation was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for filing consideration.

“The allegations do not represent the values set forth by the Glendale Police Department or our community,” said Chief Carl Povilaitis.  “Nor those of our officers who work hard to provide professional services to the community they serve day in and day out with honor, integrity and distinction.”

This case is currently pending in court.
