It’s time to “fall back” as daylight saving time ends on Nov. 2 at 2 a.m. The community is reminded to turn clocks back one hour.

Council Districting Meeting Tonight
A community meeting hosted by Crescenta Valley Weekly and Verdugo Woodlands Homeowners Association takes place tonight, Thursday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. at Sparr Heights Community Center. The focus will be on council districting. All are invited.

GEF Seeking Diamond Awards Nominations
The Glendale Educational Foundation is seeking nominations for Diamond awardees in the areas of distinguished achievement in the arts, in science and technology or health and fitness. Awards can also be given for outstanding contributions that do not specifically fit these areas of focus.

Awardees must be graduates of Glendale Unified high schools, and must be able to attend the Denim & Diamonds Gala on March 6 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.

Flu Shots for Seniors at USC-VHH
USC Verdugo Hills Hospital (USC-VHH) is offering free influenza immunizations to adults 55 years of age and older on Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the hospital’s council room (located on the fourth floor). Immunizations will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Pancake Breakfast on Saturday
The annual CV Town Council pancake breakfast is Saturday, Nov. 1 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at CV High School. The council is again partnering with local area non-profit organizations and share 50% of the proceeds ($2.50) for each advance ticket sold. Tickets are $5 and also available onsite on Saturday morning.
