Thefts on the Rise in La Crescenta

There have been a number of thefts in the La Crescenta area over the past two weeks. There have been two stolen vehicles (one was recovered a few blocks from the victim’s residence) and at least six thefts from unlocked vehicles. The incidents occurred in the 3200 block of Mills Avenue, 3300 block Park Vista Drive, 3800 block of Forestglen Drive, and 3800 block of Cedarbend Drive. All of these incidents occurred on quiet residential streets near Crescenta Valley Park.

The incidents occurred on different days of the week, but appear to occur during the hours of darkness (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.). It appears the suspect(s) are roaming quiet neighborhoods and checking door handles for unlocked vehicles. The two stolen vehicles were left unlocked and had a spare key inside. None of the vehicles have signs of forced entry.

Glendale Police are encouraging residents to lock their vehicles at all times and to not leave personal items in their car.

Those who have information that could assist detectives can contact the Glendale Police Department at (818) 548-4911.
