Getting Ready for the Polls

By Mary O’KEEFE

In about three weeks voters across the nation will be going to the polls. In the upcoming weeks, CVW will be looking at what Crescenta Valley residents will find on their ballot.

There are some important dates voters should pay attention to including the last day to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot is Oct. 30. Los Angeles County has started to mail over two million vote-by-mail ballots. The ballots are new this year and are easier to read, understand and fill out with no postage required to send in, according to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.

Vote-by-mail ballots in the CV area can be dropped off at the La Crescenta Library, 2809 Foothill Blvd., the La Cañada Flintridge Library, 4545 N. Oakwood Ave., Glendale Central Library, 222 E. Harvard St., Glendale City Hall, 1601 W. Mountain St. and Tujunga-Sunland Branch Library, 7771 Foothill Blvd.

The last day to register to vote is Oct. 22.

Election Day is Nov. 6 with polling places opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 8 p.m.
