CASA 0101 Theater will present the world premiere of “Dive Bar,” written by Chris Banda, directed by Miguel Angel Delgado and starring Vance Valencia, Martín Morales, Gilbert Reynoso, Oscar T. Basulto and Arezu Tavkoli. Performances will be for four weeks at CASA 0101 Theater in the Gloria Molina Auditorium, 2102 E. First St. (at St. Louis Street) in Boyle Heights/Los Angeles. Performances are from Oct, 9 – Nov. 1.
In “Dive Bar,” a rest stop for the soul, police helicopters circle outside Vee’s Bar in Boyle Heights following a nearby shooting. A mysterious old man matching the description of “a person of interest” walks into the bar prompting intense speculation among the patrons inside. As the truth about the stranger unfolds, everyone in the bar is thrust into a fight for their lives.
“Dive Bar” will be presented on Fridays and Saturdays 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. A discounted preview will be presented on Oct. 8 at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $25 per person for general admission; $22per person for students and seniors 60 years-plus and $20 per person for Boyle Heights residents and groups of 10 of more. Discounted tickets at $15 each will be available for a preview performance of the play on Thursday, Oct. 8 and to a special industry night on Thursday, Oct. 29 performance at 8 p.m. There will be no performance of the play on Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 31.
