1000 block of Stratford Drive in La Cañada, the glass pane to a French door was broken and several electronic devices were stolen from a home between 11:35 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.
1700 block of Fairmount Avenue in La Cañada, a window was broken and a key was stolen from a residence between 8:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.
Sept. 25
5200 block of Haskell Street in La Cañada, a resident called the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station when she returned home to find the front door of her house open. Deputies arrived and after an investigation found several rooms had been ransacked. Several pieces of jewelry were stolen along with a pillowcase.
The residential burglary occurred between 3:20 p.m. and 5:55 p.m.
900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, the glass door of a home was shattered overnight.
Sept. 24
2700 block of Fairmount Avenue in La Crescenta, a Chrysler PT Cruiser was stolen from a driveway. The owner reported that the keys to his vehicle were left in the center console and the vehicle was left unlocked. He parked his vehicle and went into his home and when he returned to the driveway he noticed the vehicle was gone. The car was equipped with a theft monitoring system.
When the deputy arrived, he requested the PT Cruiser information put into the Stolen Vehicle System and canvassed the neighborhood looking for the vehicle. A few hours after the vehicle was stolen, a deputy received a signal from the theft monitoring system. The vehicle was discovered at Lowell Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in Tujunga in the parking lot of a restaurant. Nearby surveillance video revealed a white Nissan Altima four-door sedan stopped in the parking lot near the restaurant. Soon the PT Cruiser pulled up next to the Altima and it appeared the two drivers spoke. The PT Cruiser then parked in a spot where deputies later found it.
The driver of the stolen vehicle exited and got into the Altima, and the vehicle drove away. The vehicle was stolen overnight.
